“Great way to see key sites in Greece. Tour operators were very knowledgeable and friendly. Parthenon/Acropolis took over an hour, maybe almost 1h 30 mins of the tour. The rest was seeing from air conditioned vehicle (very welcomed after Parthenon!) and making some stops along the way. Walked around for about 10-15 mins in Plaka/Monasteraki area. Super cute walking area w lots of shops and restaurants. Overall was a great way to see key things and figure out where we’d like to explore more. Glad we did it on our first day in Athens.”

“Our guide was excellent, however for the amount of money we spent on not just the excursion but the entrance tickets it wasn’t worth it. We did the Acropolis option with the added Plaka food. It was around $850 for 5 people. When I messaged to ask about a ride from the port to the meeting place they wanted to charge me $100 Each Way! That is definitely taking advantage of tourists since a taxi there and back was around $55 Euros . The food we had at the Plaka Neighborhood was excellent but the whole thing lasted about 3.5hr and that was with A LOT of breaks in between.”

She had an album depicting images she’d share of what the ruins looked like during years prior. She spoke clear English unlike other tour guides we experienced. I have read a great deal and watched documentaries about Delphi but nothing can really explain the site and sheer awe of it all until you have been there. Even if you are being dragged along as part of a group, the views of the mountains and valley are totally worth it! It does involve walking, stairs and a trek up the hill. “Tour was nice and informative. Need to wear a comfortable walking shoe or sneaker with good grips on the soles for walking on the rocks and marble ground. Walking up wasn’t too bad, the incline and stairs are gradual. It looks worse than it is. Although, going there is best in the early morning or before sunset, when it is cooler. It is hot here in the summer. Once reaching the top, you will have great views of the city and ruins.”
